The sacred Black Stone, now embedded in the eastern corner of the Kaaba, was handed to Ibrahim by Angel Jibreel and placed by his own hands, further sanctifying the structure.

Pilgrims do the circumambulation, known as “Tawaf” in Arabic, upon arriving in Mecca. The large crowds circling the Kaaba will last into the Hajj’s first day.
