Now, the show has been renewed for a third season — but Lewis Carroll didn’t write a third “Alice in Wonderland” book. Still, the books will play a role, albeit different, in the next season.

Indeed, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” will resonate strongly with those who adore “Alice” — so much so that Joffrey extended the production to three weekends before it opened.

“Wonderland” came out in 2011, the year after Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and the year of Lady Gaga’s ascension into pop goddesshood. It’s clearly an attempt to capitalize on both.
