Several Montreal-area school boards and institutions are announcing closures as one of the biggest storms of the season cloaks the city in snow. Hundreds of flights out of Montreal have also been cancelled.

Another winter storm forecast to pack a punch with heavy snowfall is headed for Kansas City overnight Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The potential for heavy snow and ice blanketing roads is prompting local school districts to take early precautions for Wednesday.
