Minneapolis’ historic Stone Arch Bridge is set to reopen before summer’s end with a ribbon-cutting event.

Members of the River Bend Historic District say putting a pedestrian bridge on the west side near their homes would cause safety and traffic issues.

However, the city never opened the bridge portion of the trail, which runs over Interstate 5 near Land Park to connect the trail to the Sacramento River Bike Trail.
