A canned tuna recall at Costco and other stores over a botulism risk has consumers on alert. Check if your tuna is affected and what to do next.

Genova 5-ounce cans involved in the recall were sold at Harris Teeter, Publix, H-E-B, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart and independent retailers in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tennessee and Texas.

Tri-Union Seafoods, a subsidiary of food company Thai Union Group, is recalling several tuna products over the risk of botulism. The El Segundo, California, U.S.A.-based company voluntarily recalled select canned tuna products under Genova, Van Camp’s, H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s brands “out of an abundance of caution.”

Tri-Union Seafoods is recalling certain canned tuna products sold at Costco, H-E-B, Kroger, Trader Joe’s, Walmart and other stores.

Tri-Union Seafoods, a subsidiary of seafood producer Thai Union Group, said it "made the decision to voluntarily recall select lots of canned tuna products sold under the Genova, Van Camp's, H-E-B and Trader Joe's brand names.

The FDA recently announced a recall impacting canned tuna at popular supermarkets across the U.S., including H-E-B, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Publix and more.
