Step one for Pete Carroll upon joining the Las Vegas Raiders was figuring out who his three coordinators would be. Once that was done, it was time to move onto step two: ironing out both the positional coaches and coaching assistants.

Usually, when a new coach takes over, most of the assistant coaching staff from the previous regime is not retained. There are some exceptions, but for the most part, it’s a clean slate. Hwoever, new Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll has retained a fair amount of holdovers from Antonio Pierce’s staff.
