Three idols, carved from rocks brought from Karnataka and Rajasthan, are being made by renowned sculptors Ganesh Bhatt, Arun Yogiraj, and Satyanarayan Pandey.

Sculptor Satyanarayan Pandey said the marble’s strength and longevity make the figures capable of lasting a thousand years.

Three idols are on the shortlist: Two, carved in black stone, are by Arun Yogiraj and Ganesh Bhatt of Karnataka; and the third, in white, by Satyanarayan Pandey of Rajasthan.

The height of idols will be around 36 to 60 inches, he said. "The Ram Darbar will be the spiritual heart of the temple," Pandey added.
