Outdoor enthusiasts hoping to admire Colorado’s snow-dusted Continental Divide up close must look elsewhere after Rocky Mountain National Park’s Trail Ridge Road closed for the season Friday.

The road closed for the winter Oct. 25. Other years the park didn't get Trail Ridge Road open by Memorial Day were 2019-2022, 2015, 2011 and 2010, the park previously reported.

Trail Ridge Road, or U.S. Highway 34, which runs between Estes Park and Grand Lake through Rocky Mountain National Park, has not set a closing date for the winter just yet.
