ROCHESTER - The Rochester Library Board of Trustees has voted to remove the Little Free Diversity Library. The mini-library was installed in June by the group Tri-Town Against Racism.
But at the most recent meeting of Rochester's Joseph Plumb Memorial Library Board of Trustees, letters with these comments were read out loud. "I find this library…offensive," wrote one person.
Tyler, the township’s former library board president, said that’s why the township’s millage was lowered to 0.14, while Rochester and Rochester Hills residents will pay 0.39.
The Elizabeth Taber Library is planning to undertake a $40000 feasibility study $20000 of which would come from a state grant and $20000 from a spring 2005 Town Meeting vote.
