Work on another half-mile section of the Roanoke River Greenway is set to begin in June and will take about a year to complete.

Roanoke police officers are investigating a shooting Thursday in the 100 block of Laconia Avenue Northeast. A man has been pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police department news release.

All were evaluated and three were taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the school division. They have since been released.
