"Buzz" Bissinger and a 2004 film adaptation of said novel, Peter Berg's series "Friday Night Lights" is, ostensibly, about a scrappy Texas football team who overcome the odds after losing its star player to a traumatic injury right out of the gate.

Billy and Tim go out to see them. Billy leads them in a war chant and Tim sees how Billy has found his place. After the game, Vince is excited as he relives big plays, meaning they obviously won.
