AURORA, Colo. — People who live at The Richfield Apartments in Aurora have been fighting to stay warm since October, after a boiler issue cut off heat to several buildings months ago.

CBZ Management, the owner of Aurora apartments with an alleged Venezuelan gang takeover promoted by Donald Trump, has faced bad inspections and tenant complaints going back years.

Aurora has threatened to shut down two troubled apartment complexes unless their owners take responsibility for deteriorating conditions and install an in-person presence on the properties.

Richfield Council Member Maria Regan Gonzalez agreed, adding that it's important for the residents living there that Aeon be held accountable. "We need more, and we need more done now," she said.

In December, Aurora police announced the detainment of 19 individuals who all allegedly participated in the torturing of two people during a home invasion at The Edge at Lowry Apartments.
