The Texas Sunset Advisory Commission on Thursday snubbed several recommendations meant to enhance the Railroad Commission of Texas' efficiency and environmental regulatory functions.

In April 2016, the Sunset Commission staff released a full report on the sunset of the agency. A public hearing is set for Aug. 22, 2016, to take testimony on the staff report and the agency overall.

The Sunset Commission will receive testimony from its staff, followed by Railroad Commission leaders and the public. Such testimony will be limited to three minutes per person.
