Redditors fought over pixels in 2022’s r/place. The internet mural was created in four days, starting on April 1, before it was reverted to a blank canvas.

Reddit’s 2023 edition of r/Place is already littered with messages protesting Reddit and CEO Steve Huffman. It’s turning into a massive billboard for users to air their grievances.

The origin of r/place dates back to 2017, when then-Reddit engineer Josh Wardle created it as an April Fools’ Day event (yep, that’s the same guy who made Wordle!).
