The changing fashions of the late Queen Elizabeth are to go on show in a major exhibition next year at Buckingham Palace.

“The dress was given to Princess Elizabeth’s nanny, Clara Knight, and then passed down through her family until we acquired it,” Storey explains. “It was a must-have for us.

The Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection contains some 10,000 items of historic dress from the 16th century to the present day, including items worn by Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana.
