A 77-year-old Acushnet man died after he was pulled from the water Tuesday near a boat ramp in southeastern Massachusetts, officials said.

At least 575 people were rescued, but three people died and two remain missing.

The Environmental Protection Agency says there is an urgent need for all private drinking water supplies to be registered amid growing health concerns.

The water monitor lizard, named Goose, snuck out of a home in Webster on Friday, and its whereabouts remained unknown Saturday evening, local officials said.
