Poland introduced temporary controls on its borders with Germany and Lithuania on Monday, in what the government said was a step to check migrants more thoroughly amid public concerns over immigration.

"Dreams" director Michel Franco is working on a documentary in Poland. "It's been hard. It's been a really humbling experience, making a documentary," he tells Variety. Franco, born in Mexico, comes from a Jewish family.

People in 12 of 24 nations surveyed tend to say the U.S. is their top ally. But it's also widely seen as a top threat, as are Russia and China.

In all three studies, vegetarians felt that achieving success and power were more important to them than meat-eaters did. Based on the study, the researchers said that vegetarians may be "more masculinized than meat-eaters" due to the fact that they have values that are traditionally considered more masculine, like power and success.

China, Russia and the U.S. are widely viewed as top threats around the world. The U.S. is mostly seen as an economic threat, while Russia is primarily considered a security threat.

Jewish food, and especially Ashkenazic Jewish food, is slowly but steadily returning to the country, where many of the dishes actually originated. The comeback is driven by a growing interest from Polish people in finally facing their country’s past.
