After the complaint, an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office found Washington’s state parks were out of compliance with those federal requirements at some of its parks.

The Palisades Fire began around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, prompting State Parks to close Topanga State Park and Will Rogers State Historic Park as a precaution.
