Horry County Chief Coroner Tamara Willard identified the man who died as 52-year-old Eric Slate, NBC affiliate WMBF reported. No additional details have been released by authorities.

While kangaroo and wallaby attacks aren’t all that common, they can still happen. Back in 2022, a 77 year-old man was killed in Western Australia after reportedly being attacked by his pet kangaroo.
