The Ohio State mascot Brutus trolled Lou Holtz after Ryan Day's Buckeyes won the college football national championship vs. Notre Dame.

Ohio State has embraced their new rivalry with Lou Holtz, and some Buckeyes fans trolled the legendary Notre Dame coach with an awesome sign during the College Football Playoff National Championship game on Monday night.

Lou Holtz may not get to celebrate a Notre Dame title in Atlanta. Notre Dame is down 31-23 to Ohio State in the National Championship Game. The Fighting Irish allowed 31 straight points after opening the contest with a 15-play touchdown drive that lasted nine minutes and 45 minutes.

Brutus Buckeye and Ryan Day fire back at Holtz's controversial comments after the Buckeyes secure the national title.

"Where is Lou Holtz?"  That question is going to be asked all week leading up to the College Football Playoff championship game between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 8 Ohio State at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday.

Ohio State RB Chip Trayanum plowed through the middle of Notre Dame's defensive line for a 1-yard touchdown on third-and-goal with one second left on the clock to seal the win. During a postgame interview with the NBC broadcast, Day, unprompted, went off on Holtz in a clip that went instantly viral.

During Sunday's media availability, eight days before Notre Dame and Ohio State meet in the national championship game, Day was asked if he had spoken at all to Lou Holtz since the infamous viral moment and if things had been at all patched up between the two.

Ohio State and Notre Dame will square off in the College Football Playoff national championship on Jan 20 in Atlanta.
