The OSIRIS-REx program is scheduled to wind down at the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2025. But people will keep studying the samples. They’re at NASA, they’re available for research.

This “super-resolution” view of the asteroid Bennu was created using eight images obtained by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft on Oct. 29 from about 205 miles away.

OSIRIS-REx collected more than double the amount of surface material, as the targeted sample size was 60 g. The spacecraft left Bennu for Earth on May 10, 2021.
