Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi was placed into an induced coma after he had to undergo surgery on an abdominal injury that was deemed “urgent,” various outlets reported on Tuesday.

Nottingham Forest trace their roots back to the Forest Recreation Ground, in the north of the city. They even played a FA Cup tie here in 1878. The site is still in use today.
