Traveling to a high vantage point away from light pollution is the best bet to see the northern lights, according to NOAA. The lights will peak between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. local time.
The aurora's are back! And may be visible throughout the weekend. The University of Alaska and NOAA track auroras using the Kp-index, a global auroral activity indicator which has a scale from 0 to 9.
