An additional 60 Texas educators are under investigation for potentially securing teaching certifications through a cheating ring, state officials said Thursday. The new probes by the Texas Education Agency bring the total number of educators accused of fraudulently obtaining certications to roughly 160.

Sixty new Texas teachers —including 24 from the Houston area—have been added to the list of educators being investigated for allegedly participating in a local cheating ring that resulted in fake teacher certifications.
