Fresh off of an upset of Elder, No. 6 Walnut Hills' reward was a match with top-seeded St. Xavier. The Bombers ended up with the 27-25 win in set one before Walnut Hills took set two 25-19.

St. Xavier clinched the Ohio High School Boys Volleyball Association Division I state championship in 2019, but has failed to advance out of the regionals since.
