A 46-year-old man from Deepwater drowned Saturday afternoon in the Niangua River at Lake of the Ozarks while attempting to help other swimmers, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at around 3:40 p.m., the man, from Deepwater, Mo., went under the river and never resurfaced after attempting to pull other swimmers to shore.
