Twelve years after his death, Mandela’s legacy risks being reduced to performative charity and forgotten T-shirts.

Making sure that visiting kids connect with Mandela's childhood was especially important to The Children's Museum, said Aaron Bonds, the museum's director of actor interpretation and theater.
