Visitors to Presque Isle State Park discovered the body of a young female kayaker who went missing Friday in Lake Erie.

Multiple agencies responded after visitors spotted the young woman’s body shortly after 1 p.m. and pulled her onto the shore.

The search began on Friday after a kayak with two teens took a kayak out into the lake but had trouble in the surf.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release confirming that a body had been found in the lake, which was searched as recently as April 1. That search turned up no clues.

On Wednesday, officials with the U.S. Coast Guard announced the search for a missing boater after a boat was found in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive.
