The current arena, which can hold 21,000 spectators, opened in 1996. It operated as the CoreStates Center, the Wachovia Center and the First Union Center before taking the Wells Fargo name in 2010.

Wells Fargo bought out Wachovia and posted its name on the roughly 21,000-seat building in 2010. Comcast Spectacor last year completed a $400 million renovation project of the Wells Fargo Center.

The Wells Fargo Center, located in South Philadelphia, will be renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena starting Sept. 1, Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment announced May 6.
