In 2022 the DNR stocked 433,154 brown trout yearlings and 42,547 brown trout fingerlings in the Wisconsin waters of Lake Michigan. The fish were planted in 11 counties from Kenosha to Door.

Brown trout migrate in late fall and winter from Lake Michigan into the Milwaukee River to provide anglers with world-class fishing opportunities.
