Meritus Medical Center has put more staff on duty recently as it's been dealing with an increase in patients the past two weeks, according to an email from Meritus Health officials.

To meet that need Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown will cover tuition, expenses for books, lab fees and uniforms for nursing students just across the Potomac at Shepherd University.
