Work on a replacement for the 68-year-old Robert Opie Norris Bridge, a 2-mile span with narrow lanes, no shoulders and a 110-foot drop from its center span to the river, will now begin in 2028.

The memorial also will dedicate a bronze plaque to the 2nd Infantry Division. Guests are invited to bring a lawn chair, as seating is limited. Guided tours start at 1 p.m.
