BEFORE heading out on the water this festive season, Mackay fishers are reminded to grab a free zoning map so they know where they can go and what they can do in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

A FORMER Mackay couple has spent the past five years fighting a "stressful" battle against the Mackay Regional Council to unravel a zoning mystery surrounding their property.

While parts of the Eungella National Park subtropical rainforest have been reduced to cinders, the community is determined to not let the fire win.
