After a three-year run at the top of the annual list of world’s most liveable cities from the Economist Intelligence Unit, Vienna has been beaten out by another European city.

New York City has been named the best city in the world for 2025 by Oxford Economics' Global Cities Index. This year, eight of the top 10 cities maintained their spots on the all-encompassing list.
