The badge represents the Lincoln coat of arms, which features the fleur-de-lis as a symbol for St Mary, signalling the Cathedral’s dedication to the Virgin Mary.

Lincoln were known as the Imps from approximately 1919, but the first instance of the creature appearing on the badge of the club is understood to be in the early seventies.
