Every other year, ODFW uses helicopters to drop tens of thousands of baby trout into Cascade Range backcountry lakes. Here's how they do it.

Trout stocked in 400 lakes statewide, 300 in the Cascade Range Around 100 lakes in the Central Cascades — between Mount Jefferson and Diamond Peak — were stocked with trout on July 8.

The Lower Colorado River Authority says lakes could have fast currents, rising bacteria levels and debris after floods.

World Atlas identified three lakes - Boyd Lake, Electra Lake and Lake Pueblo - as the most snake-infested in Colorado. Commonly sighted snakes include bull snakes, garter snakes and coachwhip snakes.
