South Carolina officers searched Lake Murray for missing boater after finding an empty, running boat.

The SC Department of Natural Resources said the search for a missing boater in Lake Murray ended when a body was recovered, but it’s still being investigated.

While health officials presume that recent fatal case of Naegleria fowleri, or brain-eating amoeba, came from Lake Murray, the lake is not at an elevated risk, the state said.
