Federal judge rules in favor of homeowners against Ojibwe tribe in long-running roads dispute
A federal judge on Aug. 6 declared that dozens of homeowners within the Lac du Flambeau Reservation have the right to access their land using four disputed roads that run across tribal land.
Judge William Conley ruled on Thursday that homeowners in Lac du Flambeau “hold valid, enforceable easements,” and roads that the Lac du Flambeau Tribe had barricaded must remain open for public use.
