Karam appealed the report, but the board rejected his appeal. He sued in state court to get reinstated to his position, but that suit was dismissed.

Karam’s original contract, signed in 2011, included a term from Sept. 6, 2011 through Sept. 5, 2016, within the period allowed by law.
