The annual Great Forest Park Balloon Race will return to St. Louis on September 20 and 21, featuring hot air balloons, food trucks, music, games, and the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team.

The Great Forest Park Balloon Race is one of the country’s longest-running hot air balloon races and the only one held in a large metropolitan city. The tradition began in 1973.

A drone show will follow the balloon glow. Hundreds turned out for Thursday's Balloon Glow. The first Great Balloon race was held at Iroquois Park in 1973, with only seven balloons taking part.
