Interstate 40/85 in Alamance County has reopened after being closed in both directions for several hours early Monday because of flooding, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.

The North Carolina said the highway shut down earlier this morning from exit 150 (Jimmie Kerr Road) to exit 152 (Trollingwood Hawfield Road).

The closure started early-morning Monday. While the cause of the road closure is unclear, Tropical Depression Chantal caused significant flooding damage in Alamance County Sunday night.
