A zoo in Thailand used a mascot version of its most famous resident, Moo Deng the pygmy hippo, for a drill testing zookeepers' response to an animal escape.

The company behind New Brighton’s Adventureland has been charged following an incident involving an inflatable pirate ship in 2023.

The drill involved a mock escape of Moo Deng, with one staff member fully suited in a hippo costume to bring realism to the operation.
