A sort of Achilles heel for IU women's basketball has been a tendency to fall apart in the fourth quarter. That didn't happen Sunday against Nebraska.

Indiana women's basketball led by as many as 18 points in the second quarter, allowing the Hoosiers to cruise to a win over Nebraska on Sunday afternoon.

What might be the biggest piece of the Hoosiers’ success is how they took care of the ball. Indiana averaged around 15 turnovers per game entering Sunday. It only had eight against Nebraska. Plus, it also forced 17 turnovers for the Huskers, 10 of which were steals.

Defending Nebraska senior center Alexis Markowski, who entered Sunday averaging 14.7 points per game, was one of Indiana’s keys to securing a win. But the Lincoln, Nebraska, native played just 18 minutes as the Hoosiers held the 6-foot-3 Markowski to 8 points and three rebounds.

Nebraska slipped to 16-6 overall and 7-4 in the Big Ten, while the Hoosiers improved to 14-7 and 6-4 in the conference.

Indiana outscored the Nebraska women’s basketball team by 30 points at the 3-point line in a 76-60 win on Sunday in Bloomington, Indiana. Indiana shot 43% on 3-pointers, finishing with 13. That’s tied for the most by a Nebraska opponent this season,
