Spice Malabar will be open for lunch noon to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

That restaurant’s jolly, pot-bellied Buddha, red lacquer and elaborate carved latticework are gone now, replaced by a contemporary decor in the vivid colors of an Indian spice box.
