Chicago police shot a suspect Thursday afternoon on the South Side after officers responded to a call of a person with a gun, CPD officials said.

A man was shot by a Chicago police officer during an incident in the city’s Mount Greenwood neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

The police officer, Jeffrey Nelson, shot and killed Jesse Sarey, 26, while attempting to arrest him in May 2019. Mr. Nelson was found guilty of murder and assault last June.
