Barry, the second named storm of this year's Atlantic hurricane season, became a tropical depression by Sunday night, when it made landfall shortly before 11 p.m. ET.

The hurricane center said early Wednesday morning, July 2, Flossie is located about 315 miles south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas with maximum sustained winds near 115 mph with higher gusts.

Six hours later, Erick made landfall in extreme western Oaxaca state east of Punta Maldonado as a Category 3 with 125 mph winds, according to the National Hurricane Center.
