Hurricane center updates: Tropical Storm Chris makes landfall in eastern Mexico, bringing heavy rains and flooding. Category 3 Hurricane Beryl moving toward Windward islands.

As Chris prepares for landfall, major Hurricane Beryl is taking aim at the southern Winward Islands of Grenada, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia as a strong category 4 storm.

The National Hurricane Center issued a special advisory at 11:10 a.m., saying Hurricane Beryl made landfall on Carriacou Island as a strong Category 4 storm. Maximum sustained winds were 150 mph.
