The Hotel Laguna, which had been closed since 2017, has reopened its lobby and restaurant following the completion of the first step of a restoration project by the Laguna Beach Co.
The hotel dates back to the 1920s, or at least pieces of it do. Since, the bungalows and a mid-20th century tower were added to the site, creating a mix of architectural elements on the 4.5-acre lot.
Reserve online or call the hotel at 844-276-6563. Room rates are listed as starting at $175 per night. Brookmere’s Arbor Spa is not yet open.
— After years of delays, construction on the historic Hotel Blue in downtown Albuquerque is set to resume. The more than $20 million project was expected to be a key part of revitalizing the area.
The Shore Hotel and the Coastal Commission are scheduled to go to trial in June. The 3,000 square foot restaurant will be located at 1530 2 nd Street.
The hotel opened on Friday. “This quiet and upscale hotel will be a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle of town steps away” said Jason Brown, managing partner of Blue Flag, in a statement.
Blue Ribbon has big shoes to fill: The restaurants will be inside Kenmore Square’s Hotel Commonwealth, longtime home of Eastern Standard, Island Creek Oyster Bar, and the Hawthorne.
