A federal jury in New Orleans has ordered a Catholic religious order to pay nearly $2.4 million in damages to a man who reported being sexually abused by one of its members in the late 1960s.

Two people were shot and killed in the Holy Cross neighborhood early Saturday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Funeral service will be held at Cross Heath Methodist Church Newcastle on Monday 30th June 2025 at 1pm, followed by interment at Silverdale Cemetery.
