Amazon Fire tablets run an Android-fork called FireOS with its own, limited, app store. Fortunately, you can install the Google Play Store.

Amazon started rolling out a Fire OS 8.3.1.3 update and suddenly users who had been unable to get the Play Store to work on tablets running Fire OS 8.3.1.2 noticed that it was working.

But as of mid-July, 2023 it’s very easy to install the Google Play Store on the Fire Max 11, making it feel a bit more like a standard Android tablet. Here’s how to do it.
